When I grew up in Edmonton visiting the mountains was pretty common. Banff, despite the number of tourists still feels like it did when I was a kid. It’s part of why I love photographing shoots in the rocky mountains. When Isha saw one of my features in Rocky Mountain Bride she emailed me the most heart felt message. She said my work made her speechless and she would be honoured to have me document her memories. I was so touched by her message I knew this was a wedding I had to be apart of.

I learnt a lot about them during their Drumheller engagement session. They told me all about their travels around the world and their weekend trips to Banff. If I had to describe Isha and Renan in one word it would be romance. The way they look each other and the way they describe how much they love each other melted my heart.

Once while hiking in Banff they were chatting about how happy they were together. Isha started walking ahead when Renan yelled out her name. She turned around to see Renan on bended knee with a ring in his hand. She ran over to him and said yes.

Which brings us to their wedding day. Mountain weather can be very unpredictable. It can rain, hail, snow and sun shine all in the same hour! Thankfully for Isha and Renan the rain stopped just in time for their ceremony at Tunnel Mountain Reservoir. During their reception at Buffalo Mountain  Lodge they incorporated some of Renan’s Brazilian background with dulce de leche cakes and a Capoeira performace at Buffalo Mountain Lodge.
