From the moment I met Jenny and Alex, I knew I wanted to be a part of their wedding day. Their connection and commitment to each other melted my heart. I’m so happy to share this elegant Toronto wedding at the Royal Conservatory of Music with you.
Jenny and Alex first met through mutual friends. After Jenny suggested he come to one of the fitness classes she taught, Alex soon became her constant student. Now Alex and Jenny share their passion for health and wellness with the world as personal trainers.
Alex and Jenny’s wedding had me in complete awe. These two are a true team together. They planned their wedding at the Royal Conservatory of Music all by themselves. Each detail of their wedding shared their love of style, food, and fun. The result was a magical wedding filled with emotion. As a wedding photographer in Toronto, I loved photographing them in this unique wedding venue in Toronto.
Jenny and Alex started the day by getting ready at the Intercontinental Toronto Yorkville Hotel, conveniently located across the street from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Their wedding was a fusion of Italian and Chinese traditions. In one Chinese wedding tradition, the groom and his groomsmen play games called “door games,” which are designed to prove their commitment to winning the bride from the bridesmaids. Usually, the bridesmaids plan the games and subject the guys to some pretty hilarious scenarios. Jenny watched the games via FaceTime while the bridesmaids had a good laugh. Once the games were finished, the couple honoured their parents and grandparents in a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.
Afterwards, we went to take wedding photos at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Often I ask my couples what part of their wedding venue they like the most. For Jenny and Alex, the stairs of the Royal Conservatory of Music were their favourite feature. Knowing this, I planned their first look at that spot.
As a candid wedding photographer, I love documenting those amazing blink-and-you-missed-it moments and Jenny and Alex’s wedding had plenty of them. When the dance floor opened, Alex’s Nonno (grandpa) grabbed Jenny’s hand and took her for a spin on the dance floor. As they watched him break out his dance moves, many of the guests reacted with hilarious results. Jenny and Alex’s planned a wedding that was not only elegant, but truly heartfelt.
