I first met Alusha while at the Wedding Co. show where she was an exhibitor. I recognized her work right away and thought she had a fun, stylish vibe. Fast forward years later we connected again at a wedding. Alusha was the planner and I was the wedding photographer. As the owner and lead planner of A lush affair, Alusha has the drive of an entrepreneur and the creativity of an artist. We teamed up together to create some personal branding photos for her business.

During our planning session we chatted about what inspires Alusha and how she adds her style into everything she does. She wanted to incorporate her relaxed street style with a fashionable backdrop. After discussing a few indoor and outdoor locations we decided studio would be best so she could change outfits and get comfy in a private space. For Alusha I envisioned a backdrop that was stylish, clean and unique. We photographed her two-hour Toronto personal branding photo shoot at Lovt Studio east.
On the day of the shoot I walked in through the door and saw Alusha. I nearly burst out laughing – we were wearing the exact same outfit: leather jacket, white tee shirt and black ripped jeans. Great minds think alike, right? To kick off her shoot we started in a look that was comfy and familiar to her. From there we turned up the music and captured her dancing. Partway through her session the studio’s cat jumped in for a few photos.
