As a Toronto proposal photographer, I’ve photographed a number of surprise proposals in Toronto, but this was one of the most elaborate proposals I’ve photographed. On the day of the closing of their new home Zachary asked Audrey if she could meet him there after work. Little did she know Zachary had a big surprise planned. With the help of his sister he decorated the room with rose gold balloons that spelt out the words “Marry Me”? I love surprises and being apart of this was so exciting! Proposals always give me that nervous tingle, but Zachary was cool as a cucumber. He had every detail planned out. While we waited for Audrey to arrive he told me about his trip to the Drake (where they had their first date) and how he got them to print out the receipt from their first date and purchased the same bottle of wine they drank on their date.
When Audrey arrived, Zachary said a few words he prepared and bent down on one knee. Needless to say Audrey was elated by the surprise. She quickly ran over and gave him a kiss and said yes! I gave the two of them a few minutes alone together before I introduced myself. Audrey gushed about the beauty of her ring, which funnily enough was also rose gold. The two popped open the bottle of wine and had a cheers to their new beginning. Afterwards we walked around the neighbourhood and took a few photos to commemorate their engagement.
