I love photographing family sessions in Toronto. My style towards family photography is to keep things natural and relaxed with a few poses along the way. I like doing the standard big group and then the smaller groups of the family and ending with parents on their own, because they’re what started it all. I was so excited when this bunch reached out to me for a family session in Toronto, because they were totally my vibe. Half of the Burris family lives in Toronto and the other half resides in Vancouver so when the Vancouver bunch came for a visit it was the perfect time for them to have a Toronto family session in High Park.
You know that old saying, “Distance makes the heart grow fonder”? I hundred percent believe in this statement. When I watched the Burris’ interact it made it even more true for me. I loved the way their family walked around High Park casually holding hands, occasionally resting their heads on each others shoulders and took turns teasing each other. They spent most of their session having fun and joking around just like a regular day in their lives. It made documenting them so easy. This Toronto lifestyle session was on one of those hot summer nights where you can’t stop the sweat from running down your back, but these guys acted all cool and just had fun with the whole shoot. Take a look below for a few of my favourite moments.
